Silver Swans ballet tuition coming soon to Kings Lynn

A ballet class for the over 55s will soon be coming to Kings Lynn.

Karen Waite has been teaching ballet for more than 50 years and she has recently taken the next step in her own training at the Royal Academy of Dancing. As a result, she is now qualified to deliver the Silver Swans program, which has been specially designed for ‘the older generation’.

Waite is passionate about her teaching and about the physical and mental benefits which ballet is thought to have. She is now equally enthusiastic about being able to provide the Silver Swans class to those aged over 55, together with anyone else who cares to give it a try. She explained:

“Most people will say ‘I’m too old for ballet’. However, I wish to change this preconception and say: You are never too old to start learning or take up ballet again.”

According to Waite, some of the health advantages of ballet include enhancing cognitive function, developing joint strength, posture and flexibility and positively affecting one’s social life.

For new ventures such as this, flyer printing often proves a highly effective promotional method to spread the word and generate interest from members of the public.

Whilst the dates of the classes have not yet been confirmed, it is thought that they will take place at 2:30pm each Wednesday afternoon at Studio 33, Bridge Street, Lynn.
