Norwich speedway plans revealed

Plans were announced recently for a new speedway motorcycle sports venue in the Norwich area.

Plans to bring speedway motorcycle racing back to Norwich have been largely welcomed, after initial announcements were made about the proposal to open a new speedway show ground. Norwich was previously famed for its speedway activity as it was home to a popular speedway stadium until the 1960s, but while the facilities to watch the sport in the area have not since been available, the appetite for the sport in the area is certainly alive and well.

There are already speedway facilities in Kings Lynn and the proprietors of Kings Lynn Speedway also own the rights to the name of a previously successful speedway team, the Norwich Stars. The owners of Kings Lynn Speedway have wished the proposed Norwich speedway the best of luck and have expressed no concern over the fact that there would be two speedway clubs in the region if the development goes ahead.

The developers of the Norwich speedway are planning to deliver over 2,000 leaflets to local residents explaining their Plans. Local development companies often turn to local Print companies to produce tools like leaflets, which help outline proposals to local residents. Firms offering flyer printing in Kings Lynn and Norwich are often used for this purpose.

Steve Ribbons from the development company spoke about the Plans, saying that a speedway show ground would act as:

“a force for good, economically and socially.”

Planning for the speedway continues.
