New jobs on the cards at Kings Lynn hotel

The developers of a new hotel in Kings Lynn are pledging to create new jobs for local people as well as injecting a significant investment into the region.

UK hotel chain Travelodge is planning to inject £4 million into the Norfolk region and create 14 new jobs as part of a new hotel complex that will be built in Kings Lynn. This is part of a wider expansion plan that will see Travelodge open new hotels across the UK and Spain.

The chief executive officer of Travelodge, Grant Hearne, spoke about the new development, saying:

“Now that we have a solid financial foundation in place, this year, the Travelodge brand will benefit from a £223m investment. This capital expenditure will help us to grow our business in locations such as Kings Lynn, strengthen our product offering and make Travelodge the best-value hotel chain in the UK. As part of this year’s investment we have worked with our customers to create a new Travelodge room which offers more comfort, quality and style.”

The new Travelodge development may also mean a boost is on its way for the local economy. Hotels often rely on local suppliers and traders to provide goods and services. For example, they may choose to produce promotional material by working with local brochure printers.

Kings Lynn residents should see work on the new development start over the coming months and details about the new jobs will be featured in the local press.
