Kings Lynn welcomes international hip-hop festival

According to Lynn News, Kings Lynn will be welcoming Breakin’ Convention in May this year, the international festival that celebrates hip-hop dance theatre.

This event will be part of the returning Norfolk and Norwich Festival, which is the first time in many years it has come to the town. It is also reported that the festival will bring in performers from all over the world.

The artistic director of Norfolk and Norwich Festival, William Galinsky, has said that the festival is already gearing up to be one of the best. It aims to get people involved, and the Breakin’ Convention is one of the opportunities in which local people can take part and bring something new to the international hip-hop dance theatre festival.

Breakin’ Convention is said to be much more than just a regular show, as it has workshops, performances and even demos. It will be hosted in the foyer of the Corn Exchange, and the general manager, Les Miller, says that the event will hopefully attract a new audience.

Other events at the festival include performances from ILL-Abilities, an Olivier Award nominated company that aims to challenge common misconceptions people have about those with disabilities. Also included in the event will be a performance from Ukweli Roach.

It is said that the full line up will be officially revealed in March, and more information can be found at the Norfolk and Norwich Festival website. There will most likely be Posters around nearer the time advertising the event, as reputable poster printing companies around Kings Lynn are often used to help promote events.
