King's Lynn to host country-folk singer

The country music artist Nathan Carter is on tour with his band and is due to give a performance in King's Lynn at the beginning of February.


This young singer was born in 1990 into a Liverpool Irish family that has maintained its strong Irish connections He began playing the piano accordion aged 4, was a chorister in the city's Boys Choir and later joined a traditional music group the Liverpool Ceili Band.


Nathan suddenly came to the public's attention in the UK and Ireland in 2009, and quickly emerged as a leading concert performer. His appeal cuts across both age and social background, with young and old attending to listen to him and his six-piece outfit.


To date, he has released six or more studio albums and several DVDs as well as a string of singles. Indeed, Garth Brooks wanted him as support at a couple of his sell-out shows in Dublin, although these had to be cancelled. Nathan recently signed with Decca Records and is due to release another album in the near future. This comes on the heels of his latest summer hit, Good Time Girls.
