TV shepherdess Amanda Owen is due to make an appearance in King's Lynn early in October.
In this show, she talks about rural and domestic life in Yorkshire, recounting a host of funny tales. She noted that is a world governed by animals along with the weather, but the lifestyle is now fast in the process of disappearing.
Known has the Yorkshire Shepherdess, Owen explains how living in Huddersfield and reading James Herriot's Books led her to abandon the town in favour of the country. She at first worked shearing alpacas, then as an independent dairy cattle milker, before coming to reside at Ravenseat and working as a shepherdess.
Ravenseat is one of England's highest places, where she raised a flock of over 1,000, married and had nine children. During the talk, viewers will learn about the trials and joys of hill farming, the "Beast from the East”, the long hot summers and the decision to purchase a nearby dilapidated farmhouse.
Owen combines the roles of mother, house renovator, popular author and shepherdess. Her Channel 5 show "Our Yorkshire Farm" is now in its third series, receiving in excess of two million viewers per episode.
Tickets cost £21 and include a venue levy of £1 per ticket. Flyer printing can be used to inform the public of forthcoming literary and cultural events.
