Participants in the heritage tour of King’s Lynn should pick up a lot of knowledge about the town as visitors will be shown a wide range of listed buildings. Furthermore, those in attendance will view St Nicholas Chapel and King’s Lynn Town Hall, giving people the chance to learn about issues of conservation and repair. Similar days may lead to more demand for Postcards from King’s Lynn.
Lecturer Tony Smith, who works for the College of West Anglia, told Lynn News:
“This is a unique opportunity to look have a guided look around some fantastic buildings in the town. With only 20 spaces available, I would advise people to book in quickly.”
A trio of Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) schemes have lent their support to the project. The contributions came from Stories of Lynn, St Nicholas Chapel, and St Margaret’s Townscape Heritage Initiative (THI). THI has been allocated £2 million. It is investing this money in working on the quality of an existing conservation area.
The tour will cost visitors £10 each. Only 20 people will have the opportunity to take part the first time the event takes place. It has been predicted that the tour will take up several hours. Councillor Elizabeth Nockholds has pointed out that previous cultural events in King’s Lynn have benefited from high attendances.Get a Free Quote for Postcards
