King's Lynn gets hare raising

A new community-based theatrical production of "The Moon Hares" is due to take to the stage in King’s Lynn at the beginning of July.

The story, written by Hazel Gould, tells the tale of a magic village where the children have never looked at the moon – circumstances that arise because they are forbidden from leaving their homes from dusk till dawn.

A new teacher comes to town and uncovers the dark secret that those who see the moon will be turned into hares until sunrise. Dare the children now break this rule and sneak a glimpse in order to embark upon a great adventure?

The entire production is brought to life by The Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment (OAE) and includes 20 musicians and four singers. All music for the show was composed by James Redwood and Henry Purcell.

There will also be young people from schools in King's Lynn and community organisations from across the West Norfolk area participating. They join the OAE acting as the chorus and play an important role in delivering the story's narrative.

Tickets range in price from £2.50 to £5, with a £1 transaction fee for booking online. Graphic design is usually elemental to the development of theatrical productions.

The Moon Hares has a starting time of 6:30 pm on Thursday, July 1 at the Corn Exchange, King's Lynn.
