Kings Lynn gears up to host a rock rebel

The 70s pop star Steve Harley and his Acoustic Band have embarked on a tour and are due to play Kings Lynn at the end of June.

This highly respected veteran of the music industry was born in Deptford and trained as a journalist. He is synonymous with the band 'Cockney Rebel' and in particular their 1975 No.1 hit single 'Make Me Smile (Come Up and See Me)'.

Steve Harley has written and released 11 albums in a career that spans over four decades. This includes giving live performances for most of this time, having taken a break from the stage in the mid-1980s whilst his two children were growing up.

He has also starred in West End theatre productions and presented his own BBC Radio 2 Show 'Sounds Of The Seventies' for nine years. In 2002, the British Academy of Composers and Songwriters awarded Harley a 'Gold Badge of Merit'.

Harley continues to sell out venues in both Europe and the UK and has just released a new acoustic CD titled 'Uncovered'. His band consists of Dave Delarre on lead guitar, guitarist/violinist Barry Wickens and Oli Hayhurst on double bass.

Tickets cost £32.00, inclusive of a transaction fee. The value of printing services should not be underestimated by those involved in the promotion of a concert or musical event.

Steve Harley's acoustic gig has a starting time of 7pm on Thursday, June 29 at The Corn Exchange, Kings Lynn.
