The 69th King’s Lynn Festival, a two-week programme of music, arts and entertainment, takes place in the town later this month.
It opens up with the BBC Concert Orchestra, which will also feature performances from soprano Lesley Garrett accompanied by clarinettist Emma Johnson, violinist Tasmin Little who performs on stage with Piers Lane, a pianist, as well as renowned classical guitarist John Williams.
Westacre Theatre serves as one of the main venues, hosting the Ruisi Quartet with viola player Asher Zaccardelli on Sunday 21st July at 3pm. A light tea will be available afterwards. The Ruth Fermoy Concert features the Endelli Quartet, with the London Handel Players also listed on the programme.
The 20th July marks the 50th anniversary of the moon landing. So this year’s event has a science theme, with Professor Robert Winston delivering a lecture entitled ‘Manipulating Humans’.
The morning coffee concerts provide an opportunity to see classical music stars such as the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. Other notable events include pianist John Lenehan’s musical accompaniment for silent movies and an exhibition of the work Gustav Metzger.
Those interested should contact the event’s organisers for further details. Flyer printing is a useful way for organisers to promote and advertising forthcoming events.
The King's Lynn Festival is due to be held between the 14th and 27 July at various venues across the town.
