Kings Lynn and West Norfolk council is partnering with waste management firm Material Works to manage waste from the region over the coming years. Material Works has Plans to turn household rubbish into material that can be used in construction projects. This will see the council recycling 90 per cent of its waste and making sure it is working towards its target of not sending any waste to landfill.
The council leader for Kings Lynn and West Norfolk, Brian Long, commented on the new waste recycling partnership, saying:
“The initiatives taken by Material Works Ltd and the introduction of their technology to us has enabled the council to secure a viable and cost-effective alternative to landfilling of waste, which is more environmentally and financially beneficial for the authority and for our council tax payers. Obviously I think we need to know that the levels of recycling of residual waste proposed are achievable, but they are confident they can achieve that.”
Material Works has created and distributed a leaflet explaining how its recycling process works. The leaflet was produced using flyer printing and Kings Lynn residents will be better informed of the way that the council will be working with this new firm because of it.
