The Grand East Anglia Run, which takes place in Kings Lynn, will once again cause a number of road closures this year in order to keep participants and spectators safe from traffic.
The Run, which is due to take place on Sunday 5 May, is 10 kilometres in length. It will comprise a circular route, passing through the historic quarter of the town and along the waterfront before finishing where it started at the Tuesday Market Place.
In an effort to promote events such as this and encourage as many people to participate as possible, organisers will often use advertising methods like poster printing.
Roads which will be affected for the longest period of time will be St Nicholas Street and the market place itself, which will be closed to traffic from 4:00am to 4:00pm.
other roads will be closed between 9:00am and 1:00pm inclusive, including South Quay, Millfleet, Purfleet Place, Boal Quay, Queen Street, King Street and the Saturday Market Place. Some roads will only be inaccessible to vehicles from 9:45am to 1:00pm such as London Road, Tower Place, St James Street, Chapel Street, Regent Place, Regent Way, Cough Lane, Surrey Street, Market Lane, Blackfriars Street, North Street and St Ann’s Street.
These precautions are to help protect the hundreds who are expected to attend the event.
