Enterprise zone launched from Kings Lynn

An enterprise zone incorporating Suffolk and Norfolk was recently set up at a location within King’s Lynn.

The enterprise zone is made up of 10 sites. One of these places is situated near the edge of King’s Lynn. If companies do well at the Nar Ouse Business Park (NOBP) then local demand for business Forms and branded office Stationery might increase.

A local enterprise partnership is heading the initiative. Nick Daubney, a councillor for West Norfolk, said:

“These are exciting times for King’s Lynn and West Norfolk. This will really help to stimulate business growth and help King’s Lynn attract new investment. In turn this will bring more jobs and opportunities for the people of West Norfolk.”

Councillor Daubney pinpointed some of the positive features of the site in King’s Lynn. He said that investors could gain from low business rates, business support, fast broadband and an aftercare package. He also explained that firms could benefit from arrangements connected with planning permission.

The aspiration is that certain economic sectors will be drawn towards the opportunities available at NOBP. In particular, the backers would like interest from high-tech manufacturing businesses and agricultural technology firms.

An enterprise zone has reportedly been functioning between Lowestoft and Yarmouth for some time. The chairperson of the local enterprise partnership, Mark Pendlington, said that King’s Lynn could hope to emulate the success attained near Lowestoft.
