Beloved pop veterans to visit King's Lynn

The 70's band Smokie is embarking on its 'The Legacy Tour', and is due to play King's Lynn at the beginning of March.

The band formed in the late 1960s at a school in Yorkshire, and after several name changes were picked up by the RAK label. This led to chart success, with singles such as 'If You Think You Know How To Love Me', and to them becoming radio staples.

Smokie's sound combines hook-heavy tracks with gentle American rock harmonies. Of their 14 UK hits, 11 were recorded in the 70s. The band continued from there to embark on sell-out tours, along with releasing collections of hits and platinum discs.

With sales of more than 30 million, they recorded their 1997 album 'Wild Horses' in Nashville, which gave them access to US radio. 'Uncovered' and 'Uncovered Too' proved to be big hits, achieving a top 5 listing in all the Scandinavian countries.

After the death of founding member Terry Uttley, the band now consists of lead vocalist and guitarist Pete Lincoln, lead guitarist Mick McConnell, bass guitarist Luke Bullard, keyboard player Martin Bullard and Steve Pinnell on drums.

Tickets cost £34 inclusive of a transaction fee. Logo Design plays an important role in the presentation of a band or musical artist.

The Smokie’s show has a start time of 7.30pm on Tuesday 5 March at the Corn Exchange, King's Lynn.
