Climate festival to take place in Exeter next year
A unique event is set to take place in Exeter next year, as the city plays host to an environmental gathering being called the Carbon Neutral Festival.
The aim behind this event is to get people from Exeter and the wider area to come together and work to address the issue of climate change. It is hoped that it can inspire the city to find ways of achieving carbon neutral status inside the next 10 years.
It is being put together by an organisation called Exeter City Futures, together with the council. These two organisations are working in tandem to devise the programme for the festival. Print shops are often used to help promote local events of this sort with materials such as posters and banners.
A council spokesperson told East Devon News that the festival would feature:
Both organisations are stating that if Exeter is to hit the carbon neutral goal within the allotted time, businesses, community groups and individuals will all need to commit to it. Exeter City Futures is already coordinating a plan for the entire city to support this, at the behest of the council.
The festival will take place early next year, with exact dates yet to be announced.
