One of Regina’s biggest events dealing with popular or “geek” culture has been rescheduled until this fall – but it will also be holding an online version of the convention on the scheduled May weekend.
The Saskatchewan Entertainment Expo typically sees about 10,000 attendees looking to interact with celebrity guests, show off their costumes, and shop from a wide variety of niche vendors. Announced guests include Canadian Supergirl actress Erica Durance, original Power Rangers star Amy Jo Johnson, Walking Dead actors Cooper Andrews and Khary Payton, comics artist-slash-pro wrestler Andy Belanger, and other professional actors, creators and cosplayers.
The online convention will look to feature vendors and artists as well as some of the aspects of community and spectacle that have made conventions like these popular across North America, often using flyer printing and Promotional Products to advertise, while maintaining social distancing guidelines. The rescheduled fall convention will feature more in-person interaction, including interaction with local and independent cartoonists in the Artist’s Alley and exhibitors featuring items like comics, medieval swords and armour, nerdy accessories and model kits.
The “online” version of the Saskatchewan Expo Regina is set to take place on the same dates as the original event, May 2 and 3. The Saskatoon version of the event is still scheduled for September 11-13 at Prairieland Park.Get a Free Quote for Promotional Products
