Bret Kissel to perform drive-in concert in Regina

Live music will return to Saskatchewan this month as country musician Brett Kissel will play a pair special drive-in concert in Regina.

The concerts will make use of a large screen and a FM transmitter to make sure that all in attendance can hear and see the show. Listeners can take in the music through their car radios and show their appreciation with a honk of the horn. The show, which is promoted by Regina Exhibition Association Limited, will aim to raise donations to the Regina Food Bank. Kissel is no stranger to charity endeavours – earlier this year he held a sold-out show in Edmonton to help rebuild Nashville from tornado damage.

The second show, taking place later at night, was added after the first one was quickly sold out. Kissel has released eight albums, two of which were certified gold by Music Canada, and won the Juno Awards for Breakthrough Artist of the Year in 2014 and Country Album of the Year in 2019. The Saskatchewan shows are set to follow a drive-in concert in Kissel’s native Alberta. Many familiar aspects of the concert, from advertising using flyer printing and Promotional Products to the final encore, will likely remain relevant in the growing trend of drive-in concerts.

Kissel will perform both shows on the evening of June 20 at Evraz Place in Regina.
