Why join the Hamilton and District Business Club

The Hamilton and District Business Club was formed in 1958 as a not-for-profit organization of business professionals. Members of the club are from areas such as Hamilton, Stoney Creek, Dundas and Ancaster. Firms providing such services as business card printing in these areas indirectly benefit from such an organization .

Membership in the Hamilton and District Business Club costs $375 a year; this includes a twice monthly luncheon at DiMaggio’s American Eatery. The Hamilton and District Business Club also holds a yearly golf tournament and other social events. Members of the business club are also featured in a member’s directory on the website.

Each luncheon takes place from 12 noon until 1:30pm and features a guest speaker; past guest speakers have included Paul Ferguson, John Varga and Neil Thornton. The first luncheon of every month is only for members of the business club, this is when they discuss internal subjects such as the budget and event planning. The second luncheon includes potential new members; it allows at least one of those potential members to give a presentation.

Belonging to such an organization as the Hamilton and District Business Club gives members the opportunity to find sales leads, to find sales referrals, and to learn about local suppliers. Networking is as important to a small business as providing a good product; you can have the greatest product known to man but if no one knows it exists then it is completely useless. Small businesses need one another in order to survive.
