Upcoming festival to help local charities
The Winona Peach Festival will be held for three days this August and proceedings from the event help various local charities, including Homefront Cancer Services and the Kinette Club of Hamilton/Stoney Creek.
This popular festival annual attracts over 125,000 visitors to the area. There are set to be plenty of activities to keep everyone happy. There will be a midway with rides, such as a Ferris wheel and bumper cars, carnival games, the ED Smith Fun Factory, and an arts camp. The Peach of a Car Show will feature vintage and custom cars; visitors will get to vote for the People's Choice Award.
Food will also be available for purchase. Over 75 arts and crafts vendors from the area and as far away as British Columbia will be selling handmade works of art, and more than 100 commercial vendors will also be in attendance.
Since this is the 75th anniversary of the festival, a special draw will be held in which the first prize is a Jeep Cherokee; there are seven prizes in all.
The festival will attract visitors from all over the area, including nearby Stoney Creek. Local print companies might be asked to provide marketing items such as posters and flyers.
The Winona Peach Festival is taking place at Winona Park from August 22nd to 24th. Admission is free, and midway coupons are $40 for 35. Call 905-643-2084 for more information.
