Stoney Creek tour to go behind farm's gate

Stoney Creek and the surrounding areas are home to a wide variety of agricultural operations, and for one day in September, these farms will be opening their gates to the general public.

Those who participate in the September Farm Crawl will be given a unique opportunity to get a behind-the-scenes look into the day-to-day life of a variety of farms. Many will have produce and other items for sale, and it offers a fun way to make the most of the early fall.

The roster of operations that have signed on to be included in the tour are located in Stoney Creek, Dundas, Hamilton, Copeton and other communities, and the participants will be able to meet the farmers and growers, ask questions and learn more about how they raise their livestock or crops. Wineries and cideries will be on the list of stops, offering a chance to relax and enjoy a drink.

One of the resources available to the organizers of an event like this is the services of local print shops. They will be able to produce everything from route maps to packaging supplies that help to make such an occasion a success.

The September Farm Crawl Hamilton will welcome the public on September 25th. Additional details about the various stops can be obtained by contacting the planners via phone.
