What's Happening in Stoney Creek, ON…

Stoney Creek to see return of community skate

Whether it is on an indoor rink, outdoor rink or a frozen lake or pond, skating is popular in many Canadian communities, and Stoney Park will soon be celebrating this activity.

The city has scheduled its Annual Community Skate Night, and this will be the 19th year that the activity has been on offer. The whole family can take part, and while they are having fun, the skaters will be supporting local mental health and feeding/shelter programs for those in need.

While admission to the activity is free, a request has been made that everyone makes a donation to the cause, and they have been asked to be as generous as they can. A seating area will be set up so those who do not want to hit the ice or just want to take a break can relax over hot chocolate and donuts. As there is only a limited amount of space available, advance RSVPs are required.

A community gathering in support of a cause can often successfully raise both funds and awareness, and a printing services company will be happy to help. It will be able to prepare an assortment of budget-friendly but effective marketing materials.

The 19th Annual Community Skate Night is set to begin at 6:30 pm on December 19th. It will be held at the FirstOntario Centre in Stoney Creek.
