Stoney Creek session to explore how study of seals can improve human health

When it comes to health, humans often have a lot to learn. Mother Nature can lead the way to a healthier life, and a Stoney Creek area presentation will be taking a page from one of her books.

Dr. Thomas Hawke will be sharing what can be learned from studying seals in Antarctica and also how this knowledge can be applied to human health. It’s appropriate for all ages, but children who are 12 or under will need to have an adult attend the function with them.

Dr. Hawke will explore how seals can hold their breath while they dive for food and how this can lead to applications that can be useful for people. Once the lecture portion of the event is over, the audience will be invited to take part in some hands on activities so that they can keep on learning and have fun doing so.

While this learning opportunity is on offer for free, RSVPs are required, and each attendee will need to present their ticket. A printing services company can prepare copies of any handouts that are to be distributed during events like this.

This lecture and activity session will be held on March 28th and it is scheduled to take place at 1200 Main Street West in Hamilton.
