Stoney Creek series to care for the caregiver
The VON will be hosting a series of workshops that will be focused on the fundamentals of being there for an aging or ill family member, and four sessions have been scheduled.
The “From Stress to Strength” initiative can help give caregivers the tools they need to manage the stress and responsibilities in their lives, and there will also be time for them to ask questions and meet others who understand what they are going through. It will be taking place at Orchard Terrace Retirement Residence in Stoney Creek, and there is no charge to participate. The planners explained they will recognize that caregiving can come with its own set of challenges and rewards, and there can be times when some self care can go a long way.
The four workshops will address a variety of topics, and attendees will learn about the resources and other supports that can be found right in their home community. Supplying those who take advantage of this sort of learning opportunity with lists of area service organizations that can help them that also includes contact details will make it easier for them to connect, and stationery printers will be able to create packets that contain items like these.
