Stoney Creek sees return of historical re-enactment

The Battle of Stoney Creek was one of the turning points of the war of 1812, and a local event will celebrate this special day in Canadian history.

The annual Re-enactment of the Battle of Stoney Creek will once again welcome all ages, and it will take a step back in time to the province’s early days. There will be activities for all ages, and it will put First Nations Culture in the spotlight.

The celebration will include costumed reenactors, and there will be historical exhibits, demonstrations and other fun. There will be period style games to play, and everyone can shop from the merchants and visit the military encampments to view what a soldier’s life was like before the Canadian Forces. The indigenous programming scheduled for the weekend includes games of Haudenosaunee Lacrosse, and these will take place before each battle reenactment on the Saturday. The games will be followed by singing and dancing, and the audience will be invited to join in the First Nation’s performers.

An event with a historical theme can count on being able to order a variety of materials from area Print shops. These include vintage style Posters, Banners and other items.

The 2025 Re-enactment of the Battle of Stoney Creek will be stepping back in time on June 7th and 8th. Its venue will be 77 King Street West.
