Stoney Creek run to fundraise for less fortunate
The Grimsby Benevolent Fund will once again be asking Stoney Creek residents to hit the road in support of their neighbours in need, and both men and women are welcome to register.
The Casablanca Classic will once again be doing a good turn for the area’s less fortunate, and everyone who participates will receive a finisher’s medal printed with a special graphic design. The fundraiser is set to take place at the Fifty Point Conservation Area, and each run will have its own start time.
The participants will be able to pick up their race packets on the day of the event, and there is lots of parking on site. Chip timing will be available so everyone can challenge themselves to do their personal best, and aid stations will be set up along the course. Awards will be presented in various age groups to the top finishers, and the final date to register and be assured of receiving a T-shirt is November 5th.
To help make the event have an even bigger impact, the organizers have asked everyone who plans on running or supporting to make a donation of either money, non-perishable food or other gifts in kind. A collection point will be set up on site for this.
The 2022 Casablanca Classic will be hitting the road on November 12th. Its online listing provides more information and an opportunity to sign up now.
