Stoney Creek kids to experience Victorian toys
An event on Victorian toy making is soon to be held in Hamilton, giving kids in the local area, including Stoney Creek, the chance to take a step back in time.
The Hamilton Museum of Steam and Technology will soon be offering a drop in style activity that will allow youngsters to experience the play things that were popular in Victorian times. It is suited to children who are at least three years of age, with adult supervision mandatory for the event.
The museum’s activity centre will be filled with classic handmade toys from the Victorian era, and visitors will be invited to explore them and find out both how they were made and how they work. To help encourage their creative side, attendees will also be able to make their own keepsake toy to take home with them, and there will also be crafting stations and lots of other fun to enjoy on site.
It has been announced that regular museum admission rates include access to this activity. Local print shops often provide themed décor, such as customized banners, for events like this.
The Hamilton Museum of Steam and Technology will be welcoming the public to the Victorian Toy Makers event from December 19th to December 24th. It should be noted that the venue is not open to visitors on Mondays.
