Being home alone for the first time is a common rite of passage, and Stoney Creek kids who take part in an upcoming class will feel confident when they are left on their own.
SOS 4 Kids offers a variety of training opportunities, and one of these is its Home Alone course. This in-person activity is open to any young people who are interested.
The training will introduce the learners to a variety of skills that may be helpful to them when they are on their own. Online and fire safety, accident prevention and basic first aid will all be included in the six hours of instruction, and everyone who participates will go home with a certificate of attendance and manual they can refer back to.
Being part of a workshop like this that teaches kids how to be safe may also benefit parents, as they will feel more confident their child will be okay if they are home alone. Instructional materials for seminars and other such activities may be ordered from local Stationery printers.
SOS 4 Kids will be running its Home Alone class on March 14th. The fee to register is $79.10, which includes the applicable taxes. It will be hosted in person at 800 Queenston Road, and anyone who would like to register is welcome to do so now.
