What's Happening in Stoney Creek, ON…

Stoney Creek invited to get crafty

When people think of fall, pumpkins often come to mind. A Stoney Creek area workshop will teach members of the public how to craft their very own needle-felted pumpkins, and while they work, they will be welcome to enjoy some freshly brewed tea.

The registrants for the workshop will each be making two needle-felted pumpkins, and the dyed wool and special felting needles will be provided. The registration process also includes a pot of tea, and the blend used will be created by the host’s in-house tea sommelier.

Instruction in the art of needle felting will be supplied, and the organizers remarked that the finished pieces can be used as table centerpiece, given as a hostess gift or utilized as home decor. The instructor will also teach two different techniques that can be used to make the stem part of the project.

This pumpkin crating party will be hosted at Tea at the White House, and each guest will be able to choose his or her tea form the blends on offer. If the participants are given simple needle felting instruction sheets, they will be able to make additional pumpkins, or even another project, at home. Stationery printers will be able to provide these.

The evening of Tuesday, October 1 has been chosen to be the date for this fall-themed crafting activity.
