Stoney Creek environmental project seeking volunteers

A Stoney Creek waterway in need of some care will be the focus of an upcoming volunteer community service project, and it will give those interested a chance to engage in some hands-on environmental action.

The Appleby Creek Restoration Project, which is an initiative of the Field and Stream Rescue Team, will show some love to this body of water. The volunteers will be performing a variety of tasks, and while everyone’s support is appreciated, the organizers have explained that this activity is not suitable for kids or those with mobility issues.

The group of volunteers will be creating erosion barriers to help stabilize the creek’s banks, and there will be heavy lifting involved. It will be an opportunity for environmentally minded members of the public to learn some new skills, and they will have the satisfaction of knowing they have done a good turn for the world around them.

When organizing an activity like this, the organizers sometimes order some small Promotional Products to hand out to each volunteer. These both thank them for their efforts and spread the word about the cause to a wider audience.

The Field and Stream Rescue team has put out a call for helping hands for July 17th. The volunteers will meet up at a designated spot at Appleby Creek at 9:00 am.
