Stoney Creek class to share secrets of macaroon making
French macaroons are a confection that are enjoyed by many and a Stoney Creek class is being held to give those interested in making home made macaroons the chance to learn how to make them.
The Stoney Creek area class, which is open to ages 12 and up, will begin with a history of French-style macaroons and the science behind their ingredients. After this, the hands on section of the session will begin.
All students will be guided through the process of making the batter for the macaroons and after this, they will find out how to pipe, bake and decorate their cookies. Next, it will be time to fill them and attendees will discover how easy it can be to make a variety of flavors of ganache from scratch.
When the class ends, each pupil will walk away with a box of 12 macaroons as well as an elegant package to carry them. They will also receive a recipe sheet so they can prepare macaroons in their own kitchen, and items like these can be crafted by local print shops.
