The Stoney Creek Chamber of Commerce will be recognizing some of the people and businesses that have made significant contributions to the community throughout the past year.
The organization has planned its annual Community Achieve Awards gala, and it will include both a reception and awards ceremony. This event was first started back in 1967, and it has been held ever since.
The organizers of the function are seeking nominations from the public. There are several categories, and these include Citizen of the Year, Junior Citizen of the Year, the Legacy Award, the Community Recognition Award, the Small Business Achievement Award and the Large Business Achievement Award.
Locals are invited to nominate individuals that they feel have gone above and beyond in their efforts for the community. They are also welcome to provide a nomination for a company that they feel examples good business practices, excellent customer service and sustainable growth. The Legacy Award will be presented to an enterprise that has a long history in Stoney Creek. This gala affair will be held on May 17 at Winona Vine Estates. During the evening, the awards will be presented to the recipients, and they will be thanked for all they do.
