Stoney Creek businesses and citizens gearing up for awards ceremony
The Stoney Creek Chamber of Commerce's Citizen of the Year Awards for 2012 will be presented at a banquet next month.
The evening will consist of dinner followed by the awards presentation itself. The award winners were chosen from those who were nominated by the general public and their business peers.
There are seven awards to be handed out, including Citizen of the Year, Junior Citizen of the Year, Outstanding Large Business, Outstanding Small Business, Community Recognition Award, Legacy Award and Young Entrepreneur of the Year. The Citizen of the Year award will be given to Bill Needham and the Junior Citizen of the Year to Gagandeep Virdi. The winners will each be given the opportunity to say a few words.
This will be an excellent networking opportunity for Stoney Creek residents and businesspersons. No doubt many of those planning to attend will be arranging for business card printing in advance to ensure their contact information is current. There will be plenty of chances to exchange business cards before, during, and after dinner and the awards. There will probably be some connections made at this event which will translate to more business contacts and future referrals.
The 45th annual Citizen of the Year Awards banquet will take place at Galileo's Garden on May 9, beginning at 5:30pm. Tickets are free and guests must register before May 1. For more information about the banquet, or the awards being presented, call 905-664-4000.
