Summer camp is an experience almost any child can enjoy, including those on the autism spectrum. Families from the Stoney Creek area that would like to find out what options are available may want to attend a workshop coming up in spring.
Woodview Mental Health and Autism Services has created a supportive setting where parents and caregivers can explore the different day and “sleep away” camps that can accommodate autistic children. The attendees can ask any questions they have and receive answers from those in the know, all while meeting others who also have an autistic son or daughter.
The workshop will offer a wealth of information, including where the camps are located and the transportation options on offer. They will also find out how much they cost and what funding may be available to help them meet the expense of paying for camp. Since they are all different, each will offer their own unique supports and programming, and the attendees can decide which one is the best fit for their child.
Anyone who would like to attend the event but cannot do so in person is welcome to participate by webinar. Those who would like to do this are asked to select this option when they register. A brochure printing company can supply informational materials that can help the parents who take part in this type of event decide which camp is a good choice for their son or daughter.
Woodville Mental Health and Autism Services is offering this seminar on March 5, starting at 6:00 pm.
