Stoney Creek area to host seed-filled celebration
Seed saving is an activity that offers many benefits, and this practice will be celebrated as part of an upcoming Seedy Saturday event in the Stoney Creek area.
The Central Library Branch in Hamilton will be joining other communities in marking Seedy Saturday, which is an activity that recognizes the important role that saving seeds can have in protecting biodiversity and in sustainability. A seed exchange is just one of the many activities that is on the agenda, and it will be filled with opportunities for people to learn and meet local green thumbs.
The attendees at the function will be able to take part in the seed exchange, sit in on a class or demonstration and shop in the vendor area. The kids in the crowd can take part in the activities on offer for them, and everyone can network, share their gardening tips and secrets and enjoy the high-energy atmosphere.
One of the goals of this event is to promote community interest and involvement in environmentally friendly home horticulture. Local print shops will be able to supply everything from promotional pens to informational brochures for an occasion such as this one.
