Stoney Creek area golf outing to raise funds

Interval House of Hamilton offers a safe haven for women and children fleeing domestic violence, and a Stoney Creek area fundraiser will help to support its work.

In late August, golfers from throughout the region will be congregating at the Century Pines Golf Course for Drives for Lives, which will be marking its 19th year. To thank those who register well ahead of time, they will be eligible for a special prize draw, and these early birds will also be able to purchase their tickets at a discounted price.

Along with a chance to enjoy 18 holes of golf, the ticketholders will be treated to a tasty lunch and a dinner they can take home with them. The use of a powered cart and time at the driving range is included, and there will also be various prizes awarded. An auction and raffle will round out the day, and a variety of companies have added their name to the list of corporate sponsors.

To help make sure this event reaches its fundraising goals, the organizers have put out a call to the area’s business community, seeking donations of gifts in kind for the raffle and auction. These can include T-Shirts, Drinkware and other Corporate Gifts.

The 19th annual Drives for Lives will be teeing off on August 25th. Anyone who registers on or before July 30th will have their name entered in the early bird prize draw.
