Stoney Creek area class to teach babysitting basics

Babysitting gives youngsters a chance to earn some money while gaining experience in having responsibility, and a Stoney Creek area workshop will help local youth get ready to take on the task.

The in-person Babysitter's Course on offer will cover a variety of topics that may be of interest to aspiring babysitters, and everyone is asked to bring along a teddy bear or doll to class so they can practice what they will be learning. They should also bring along snacks, lunch and a water bottle, and face masks must be worn.

The learners will have an opportunity to develop their skills in a variety of areas, such as childcare. How to keep a toddler entertained and the basics of first aid will be discussed as well. The students will be taught a variety of fun songs and games they can use, and basic business skills and marketing are also on the agenda. The facilitation will be provided by a trained professional, and each attendee will receive a manual and certificate to keep.

Young people who are considering starting up a babysitting business may want to visit a local printing company as part of their plans. It will be able to supply them with flyers, as well as business cards and other materials, all of which can be useful when promoting a new business.

The SOS 4 Kids’ Babysitter's Course will be run on October 30th. The registration fee is $84.75, and it is set to be held at 800 Queenston Road.
