Seedy Saturday is a celebration of seed sharing and other joys of gardening, and the Stoney Creek area will be marking this occasion with a special event.
Presented by Green Ventures, the 14th annual Hamilton Seedy Saturday will consist of five hours of learning about sustainability, meeting other local green thumbs and having a good time. The Hamilton Central Library, which is located at 55 York Boulevard, will be the venue for the festivities, and all types of gardening will be on the agenda.
The plans for the day include a seed exchange, helping to fill local garden beds with heritage varieties and preserve biodiversity for the future. Vegetable, flower and general landscape planting will all be discussed, and a series of demonstrations, workshops and film screenings have been scheduled. An activity zone for the kids will be set up too.
Along with the rest of the fun, Seedy Saturday will boast a pop-up market made up of local small businesses. Sales materials, including booth decor and information pamphlets, can be ordered for such events from a brochure printing company.
The 14th annual Hamilton Seedy Saturday celebration will be helping home horticulturalists to add some sustainable practices to their skillset from 10:00 am until 3:00 pm on Saturday, February 1st. While admission to the function will be free, donations will be much appreciated.
