Hamilton and Stoney Creek marathon huge success

People of all ages participated in the five-kilometre run on November 3 throughout Hamilton and Stoney Creek in the City Kidz and the Joy and Hope of Haiti in Road2Hope. The run, which took place throughout Hamilton and surrounding Stoney Creek, was a huge success that raised crucial funds for Haiti. In addition, Print companies also had a local role to play in the success.

The event welcomed many NYC marathoners and other runners, volunteers, spectators, and supporters. The campaign center helped important and deserving charities in Hamilton - the City Kidz and the Joy and Hope of Haiti. Perhaps with the help of printed advertising efforts, last year’s goal of raising $110,000 was beaten.

City Kidz is a local Hamilton and Stoney Creek area charity that strives to create a positive impact and protect at risk children in the neighborhood. The Joy and Hope of Haiti, meanwhile, is a volunteer group that works in Haiti to help build schools and supply food and water to some of the nation’s poorest areas.

Events began at Stoney Creek Furniture on Lewis Road and included opportunities for all ages and fitness levels to participate, including a one-kilometre family run, and five and 10-kilometre run for moderately fit participants. More serious buffs also competed in a half and fun marathon, which ran through Dofasco Park on Sunday, November 4 and ended the event. Lots of fitness prizes were also drawn for participants.

With poster printing promoting the November 3 marathon, as well as the printing of campaign Booklets and pledge Forms, it presumably represented a busy time for local printing companies as well.
