As the fields around Stoney Creek turn bright orange with pumpkins ready for picking, the community will be giving everyone cause to celebrate during its annual fall festivities.
The city will be welcoming the return of Pumpkinfest, which has come to be an area fall favourite. It will bring the fun to mid-October, and will pay homage to the area’s agricultural sector. The festivities will be on offer on King Street East in the community's downtown core.
For six hours, the festival will bring live music as well as a selection of freshly prepared treats on offer from local food service vendors. An artisan and craft market will be popping up, and there will be an assortment of fresh produce as well. Everyone will be able to meet and catch up with old friends; the event will encourage visitors to stop by and find out what makes Stoney Creek special.
As with many community-based events, Pumpkinfest’s planners are counting on the generosity of the city’s corporate community.
