February is tournament time in Stoney Creek

Next month, the city of Stoney Creek will be welcoming amateur hockey teams from all over the United States and Canada to play in two annual tournaments.

The first event taking place will be the 39th annual Sweetheart Tournament, presented by the Stoney Creek Girls Hockey Association. It will feature teams of girls and women from the ages of 6 to 60, with team categories encompassing novice, atom, peewee, bantam, midget/intermediate, women's recreational, and women's master. Each team will be guaranteed at least three games.
This will take place from February 7 to 9 at the Mohawk 4 Ice Center. Entry fees are $890 per team. For more information, call 905-318-5111.

Later that month, the Stoney Creek Minor Hockey Association will present the 12th annual Select Winterfest Tournament. Teams will include those ages 7 to 17 in categories such as bantam, minor midget, and tyke. As with the other tournament, each team will take to the field a minimum of three times.

This one is being held at various arenas from February 20 to 23. Fees per team are $900. To find out more, visit the Stoney Creek Minor Hockey Association's website.

Both of these tournaments will no doubt be a great place to see the future hockey players in action, or just to enjoy a good amateur hockey game. They are sure to be widely advertised in the Stoney Creek area. When organizations need to market an upcoming event, they often work with local printing companies to produce materials such as Flyers for distribution.
