Comic convention brings top names to the city
The Hamilton Comic Con is being held this October. It is dedicated to science fiction and fantasy in the form of comics, movies, and television shows.
The event takes up over 10,000 square feet and features a vendors’ room, celebrity guests, comic book artists, and question and answer sessions. Several top names will be appearing at this year's event, including Lou Ferrigno (best known for playing the Incredible Hulk on TV), Julie Newmar (Catwoman) and Verne Troyer (Austin Powers’ Mini-Me). There are also set to be several famous TV vehicles on hand, including the Batmobile and K.I.T.T. from Knight Rider.
The celebrities will be answering questions from fans, posing for photographs, and signing autographs. Other events taking place include a cosplay contest with a grand prize of $200, a Captain Canuck panel discussion, and seminars such as Droid Building 101.
VIP tickets are available, which allows people to get first priority to all of the day's activities.
Flyers and posters have no doubt been printed to attract visitors from Hamilton, Stoney Creek, and beyond. Local stationery printers may have been asked to provide them.
