Canadian Cancer Society raises funds in Stoney Creek

October is a special month for The Canadian Cancer Society, as it strives to create awareness and raise funds to support breast cancer research in communities across Canada. Hamilton and Stoney Creek businesses can see the familiar pink ribbons and pins in sight, with various events in the communities leading fundraising events this month, through the advertising efforts of local printing companies.

The Hamilton Wentworth Unit, which also covers the nearby Stoney Creek vicinity, participated in an hour-long ‘Boob Camp’ boot camp this past Saturday, October 13, bringing local residents together and also encouraging fitness and health through the fun fitness event for all ages and levels.

Participants were asked to raise at least $50 in pledges, with opportunities to win prizes based on the number of pledges raised. Participants were also rewarded with refreshments and goodie Bags for their participation. The event is likely to have been through the assistance of local printing companies and flyer printing distributed throughout the community, which helped make the day an enormous success.

As the month of October continues, communities in the Stoney Creek area and in other Ontario communities will have many more opportunities to become involved in events that will raise funds for life-saving cancer research. The assistance of local Print companies can help make the pink ribbon campaign and other community events a success, through printed promotions distributed throughout the community.

Members of the Stoney Creek community wishing to become part of the breast cancer awareness events can contact their local unit.
