Art lottery returns to the city this spring
The 4th annual Art Lottery, a fundraiser for the Centre3 for Print and Media Arts, will be held this June.
Only 100 tickets will be sold for this event. The purchaser of each ticket is guaranteed to receive one original work of art, which will be priced from $100 up to $1,000. In addition, guests will be treated to hors d'oeuvres and a cash bar. No doubt people will be excited and possibly a bit nervous, to see what they win and to see what their fellow art enthusiasts end up getting.
The funds raised during the evening will help to support the many programs and services that the Centre provides to the general public. This includes summer art camps, providing artists to schools and various community programs. In addition, it also hosts regular workshops on topics such as the basics of screen printing and paper making.
It is possible that some of the people who attend workshops at the Centre may one day work for the printing companies based in Stoney Creek and the wider region; all it takes is one spark to ignite interest.
