This summer, a Vancouver venue will be running a program that may be of special interest to anyone hoping to brush on their “on the screen” makeup techniques.
The Vancouver Film School Makeup for Film and Television intensive will help those who take part hit the ground running when it comes to their career. It will be five days of hands-on learning, and live demonstrations will also take place.
The learners will find out how to create different looks using shadowing and highlighting techniques, and character make-up will be on the agenda as well. They will be encouraged to gain practice with “out of kit” methods for creating special effects like scars and cuts, and facial hair application will be covered. The final day will see the schedule wrap up with the chance to design and then apply a tattoo, and each student will be able to build a portfolio they can use when applying for future work. Everyone is asked to bring a notebook and pen as well as their phone or camera.
Preparing for a class or workshop may include choosing a printer to supply Copies of learning materials to distribute. Stationery printers will be able to help.
Vancouver Film School will offer its Makeup for Film & Television intensive starting on July 20th at 151 West Cordova Street . The registration fee is $825.00 each.
