Textile dyes can be made from everything from food scraps to fungi, and a Vancouver class will introduce how an assortment of dyes can be prepared from kitchen scraps.
The Recreation Centre at UBC Botanical Garden will be hosting a class that will cover organic dyes, and four different scraps will be used. Everyone will gain hands-on experience, and the registration fee includes two tea towels to dye and take home.
The three-hour session will work with dyes prepared from red cabbage, black beans, onion skins, and also avocado skins and pits. Tickets are $75.00, and everyone should bring a pair of rubber gloves to wear while they work.
As part of the activity may take place outdoors, everyone is reminded to dress accordingly, and they may also want to wear clothing they will not mind getting stained. Tickets are $65.00 for members and $75.00 for the public.
When preparing for a workshop, facilitators may be in the market for an assortment of learning materials that include photos, diagrams, or graphs. These can be crafted by Stationery printers that have the technology and staff required to provide in-house Graphic Design Services.
This introduction to the art of turning food scraps into fashion statements is scheduled to run from 10:00 am until 1:00 am on April 25. The Reception Centre at UBC Botanical Garden will be the venue for the occasion.Get a Free Quote for Graphic Design Services Get a Free Quote for Stationery
