With a recent event at Edmonton International Airport, a distant part of the world just got a whole lot closer.
Back in September, Icelandair announced that it would soon be offering direct flights from Edmonton to Reykjavik, making it the third Canadian city that would provide this service. This was very welcome news for a lot of people.
Iceland has become a popular vacation destination, and this six hour flight will make it much easier to get there. It will also make it much simpler for those who are originally from that northern nation to visit their friends and family in their home country.
The first flight from Iceland arrived at the airport carrying 30 dignitaries, including Prime Minister Gunnlaugsson. During the remarks he gave after disembarking the airplane, he noted that it was his first visit to Alberta, and that when flying over it, he had been very impressed with how organized the farms and communities had looked from above.
After greeting the public, he met with Edmonton’s Mayor and several local VIPs. The near full capacity flight then made its inaugural journey back to Iceland.
When a connection like this is formed between two countries, it can bring great benefits for both. It can increase tourism and make trade partnerships much easier. To promote the new flight, a Print company can create promotional materials that include pictures that show just how beautiful each country is, and give reasons why they both make wonderful places to visit.Get a Free Quote for Print
