The Kurimoto Japanese Garden Spring Festival will take place in the Kurimoto Japanese Garden at the Devonian Botanic Garden on June 3 from 11:00 am - 4:00 pm. Admission to the Devonian Botanic Garden is $13, $8.50 for seniors, $5 for youth and students of the University of Alberta, $3 for children from age 7-12 and free for those 6 and under; a family pass is also available for $26.
This festival of Japanese culture will feature martial arts demonstrations, art displays and demonstrations, dance performances, music performances, children’s games and crafts, Japanese tea ceremonies, antique sword displays, food samplings and Taiko drummers. There is a separate charge for some activities including the food sampling.
The Japanese culture is important to the history of Edmonton and the Spring Festival will celebrate that history. It will be an excellent opportunity for the community to learn more about the culture and to experience traditional ceremonies such as the tea ceremony.
Edmonton printing companies will most likely be helping the organizers of the Kurimoto Japanese Garden Spring Festival to prepare for and to advertise the upcoming event by providing them with banner printing, poster printing and brochure printing services.
The Devonian Garden takes up 190 acres at the University of Alberta in Edmonton, in addition to the Kurimoto Japanese Garden it features greenhouses, a butterfly house, a native peoples’ garden and a sensory and healing garden. There is also a gift shop and guided tram tours. It is open daily from May to October.
