Knowing what to do in an emergency can save a pet's life, and those Calgary animal lovers who would like to be able to offer first aid to their furry friend are invited to take part in a class being offered in the city.
Central Bark Doggie Day Care will be running a Walks āNā Wags Pet First Aid Course, which has been developed as a way of ensuring people can provide emergency care to their companion animal. It will include 10 hours of instruction and will help the participants to make decisions if their furry friend has been injured or is ill.
The learners in the class will be able to bring their dog along if they wish, but they will need to register to do so ahead of time, and only four will be permitted in the learning area. COVID prevention measures will be in place, and everyone will be asked to wear a mask. Snacks and drinks will be supplied, but everyone is asked to bring lunch. The group will gain a variety of first aid skills, and dressing in layers is highly recommended.
Those who register for this type of event often want to do a deep dive into the subject material. Manuals, test sheets and other handouts for the occasion may all be sourced from local Stationery printers.
The Walks āNā Wags Pet First Aid Course will give pet parents tools they can use in an emergency on October 17th. The venue for the day can be found at 2004 10 Avenue South West.
