Youthful outlook shared in Brimbank video series

The Youth of Brimbank City, which includes Tullamarine, have been creating inspiring videos that highlight the community's many strengths and the future as they see it.

Each participant was taking part in the BrimbankYouth initiative, which aims at empowering young members of the community to be active citizens. It is open to young people who study, work, live or maintain a strong local connection with Brimbank and are between the ages of 10 and 25.

In addition, through videos, according to Mayor of Brimbank Ranka Rasic, the city's youth were able to showcase the positivity they possess during hard times. She added:

“Despite all that they endured this year, together the youth of Brimbank were able to support each other and their communities through the #BrimbankYouth initiative.”

Rasic said that during a time of great need, each of the participants had created support channels and strong connections for members of the local community, and this not only inspires the council to make positive changes, but also provides great hope for the years to come.

Council initiatives such as BrimbankYouth are often widely promoted via locally based flyer printing campaigns to attract as much participation as possible.

The short videos, which delivered snapshots of daily life in Brimbank, as told by the area's youth, have been compiled to form a series of three parts that highlights self-care and support within the community, together with a future vision.
