McKernan, who finished his 13-year career this year with St. Kilda, played 91 games in the AFL, across three clubs. The move represents a return to home ground for McKernan, who played juniors at the club. McKernan’s return will boost Tullamarine’s premiership hopes for 2022, after finishing this year’s competition as runner-up when the season was cut short by the pandemic lockdown, and the premiership was awarded on points.
